Privacy, in plain English.

Pathfinder is built by Pathfinder Learning, operating out of Thane, India. This page explains what we collect, why, and what we do (and don't do) with it.

What we collect

When you take the quiz, everything stays on your device until you explicitly save your result. We collect:

• Your name — to personalise your report.
• Your WhatsApp number — to send you the detailed roadmap you requested.
• Your location (city) — to tailor college and exam recommendations.
• Quiz answers and cluster scores — to generate your career match and improve our assessment over time.

We don't ask for your email unless you choose to provide it. We don't ask for anything else.

What we don't collect

• Your marks, board, or school — unless you tell us.
• Any financial information — we're not taking payments yet.
• Data from third-party trackers — we don't run Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any advertising SDK.
• Anything from your phone contacts, camera, microphone, or files.

How we use it

• To WhatsApp you the career roadmap you asked for. One message, then silence — unless you opted in to updates.
• To improve the quiz: if we notice certain answers consistently produce poor matches, we adjust the scoring.
• To send you occasional career tips — only if you ticked the consent box. You can unsubscribe any time.

How we store it

Your information is stored on servers located in Mumbai, India. We use standard security practices — TLS in transit, encrypted at rest, and access is limited to people who actually need it (which right now is a very small team).

We don't sell your data. We don't share it with advertisers. We don't share it with career counselling services or coaching centres. The data is yours, and we're using it only to serve you.

Minors and parental consent

Pathfinder is built for students, which means many users are under 18. If you're under 18, please get a parent or guardian's permission before sharing your phone number with us. If you're a parent and you'd like us to delete data we've collected about your child, email us at legal@hostrob.com and we'll do it within 7 days — no questions asked.

Your rights

Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, you have the right to:

• Know what data we hold about you.
• Correct anything that's wrong.
• Ask us to delete everything.
• Withdraw consent to communications at any time.

To exercise any of these, email legal@hostrob.com. We'll respond within 7 working days.

Cookies

We use the browser's sessionStorage (not cookies) to temporarily hold your quiz result while you're on the results page. Nothing is sent to our servers until you explicitly submit the lead form. When you close your tab, it's gone.

Changes to this policy

If we change what we collect or how we use it, we'll update this page and — if it materially affects you — WhatsApp the people on our list. The date at the top will tell you when.
